The Miracle of Wood and Graphite

The average pencil can record about 45,000 words or draw a line, 35 miles long.

So even though this is purely theoretical, I can get about 5 pages out of a pencil because it break, and I have to resharpen, and then it breaks.... or I sit on it and it breaks.

those things break easy... or maybe I write too hard.

I'm going to test this though. you should figure out how many lines I can fit on a piece of paper(s) so that it will equal 35 miles... that would be interesting to know.

College-ruled or regular? Are you using a No. 2 pencil? Higher? Lower? This breaking you describe — is it a portion of the tip, or does the chippage extend up into the wood casing? How far up?
