Dismissing the Brady Bunch Brunettes

More than 1,200 children tried out for parts in the original “Brady Bunch” television series. Producer Sherwood Schwartz wanted the girls to have the same hair color as their mother, so he selected six girls — three blondes and three brunettes. Later, when Florence Henderson won the part of Carol, the brunette daughters were dismissed.
